Most dog owners know that their dog loves them in an unconditional way, the love you receive from your dog can help you get through a rough day, and it’s a joy to come home to their wagging tails and excitement.

1. Licking
While some of us may not enjoy our dogs licking us, licking is the ultimate act of affection for dogs, they are expressing love and it’s their way of trying to care for you, they do this because dogs will typically “groom” members of their family. Licking you says, I love you, I want to care for you, and we are family.
2. Sleeping On Your Clothes
A dog who loves you LOVES your scent, and while your clothes may not seem to give off an odor to you, your dog can smell you all over an item you have worn. If your dog likes to sleep on your clothes, this means they really feel connected to you and want to feel near you, even when you’re not around, or don’t want to be bothered.
3. Cuddling
Sleeping in your bed or cuddling with you on the couch is the ultimate sign of love and trust, your dog is most vulnerable when sleeping or relaxing, so wanting to be near you says that they have put their trust in you.
It has been shown that just three minutes of cuddling between a dog and its owner increases Oxytocin “the love hormone” for both humans and dogs, so cuddle more!
4. Following You Around
Dogs are very protective of their owners, but if you notice your dog following you around, waiting for you to come out of a room, or checking in on you once in a while, this is a sign that they are extremely committed.
The more your dog follows you around and observes every move you make, the more she will understand you, and that’s what they are trying to do, they learn to understand our emotional states through repetition.
5. Eye Contact
Eye contact is one of the strongest indicators that your dog loves you, if your dog tends to keep eye contact with you while you are playing or talking to him, this is one of the biggest signals that your dog feels a deep bond.
Eye contact releases a chemical called Oxytocin “the love hormone” that triggers and enhances the feelings of attachment and comfort. Both of you are releasing this chemical when you are making eye contact.
