Garfield

Oh, Garfield. Who wouldn’t recognize this orange fictional cat? As a fat, lazy, and witty cat, Garfield has captured the hearts of many and the laughter of everyone. I think why people love Garfield is that because people can relate to him. He loves lasagna, he sleeps all day, he hates exercise and Mondays and likes to fight Nermal, his cat friend.

The Aristocats

The Aristocats is a Disney movie about a cat whose name is Duchess and her three kittens, Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse. They live with their owner, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, a retired opera singer and her butler, Edgar. First released in 1970, The Aristocats is truly a classic. As this might be the case, the cats in that movie still persist to live in the hearts of those who have watched them. A lot of people remember the Aristocats and the familiar cat faces. The movie is an absolute classic that even today’s generation still enjoys.

Tom

Tom from The Tom and Jerry show is no doubt among the most famous cats in the world. The constant fighting of Tom and Jerry has made a lot of people laugh. In the show, Tom is portrayed to be the bad guy. He is constantly outsmarted by Jerry and suffers a lot of humiliation. However, there are times when Tom is winning. Tom would even sometimes team up with Jerry to fight a common enemy.

Sylvester

Sylvester J. Pussycat Sr. is another familiar face in the world of cats. In fact, you may have even named your black and white cat Sylvester! In the show Looney Tunes, Sylvester is seen as an antagonist who constantly wants to eat Tweety, a fellow yellow little bird in the same household. Though Sylvester is seen as a failure in the Looney Tunes Show, he is actually a big winner. He has been part of three Academy Award-winning cartoons – a feat that no other Looney Tunes characters have achieved.

Meowth

Pokemon is no doubt a worldwide phenomenon. Though it started in Japan, it has become a household name in various parts of the world. You can see them on TV, t-shirts, video games, and even in toy stores. It is likely that Pokemon wouldn’t be what it is today without the antagonist cat, Meowth and his friends from Team Rocket. Meowth is a Pokemon species who always comes up with brilliant ideas on how to capture Pikachu, an electric mouse. Of course, Meowth and the Team Rocket don’t always succeed, but that doesn’t stop them from trying!

Of course, the list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning The Cat in the Hat, Snowball from the Simpson, Cheshire Cat of the Alice in the Wonderland, Grumpy Cat, Pusheen, Hello Kitty, Mufasa, Salem, Aslan, and so many more. All these cats deserve an honorable place in this list.
