Surry Animal Rescue is a NC certified non-profit volunteer organization. We operate solely on donations from adoptions and other resources. We rescue animals from abuse, neglect, owner surrender and euthanasia. How We HelpProvide safe care in foster homes until loving, permanent homes can be found for our rescued animals.Make sure each animal under our care is current on his/her vaccines and is spayed or neutered (age appropriate).Provide a thorough adoption application screening process to ensure an ideal match for pet and familyWe (SAR) do this because animals tend to be forgotten about. Our job is to work with helpless animals to find great forever homes and have the satisfaction that come with that.

Meet Fefe

Fefe is a 5 year old Border Collie mix, she weighs about 45 pounds.   Fefe was rescued by her foster mom when her neighbors moved.  They kept her in a small lot all of the time, she was never let out to play.  She didn't have anything to keep her dry or out of the heat.  She won't go inside a dog house because of the way she was treated.   Once her foster mom got her Fefe learned how life should really be.  Fefe loves to be outside with the option to go indoors if she wants.  Unfortunately she was never socialized by her owners so she is very skittish when first meeting new people.   She loves other dogs but will get intimidated by alpha dogs and go hide.  She has been around cats, but there is only 1 cat that she doesn't chase.  She would be better without cats and young children.  The only reason her foster mom is trying to find her a new home is because her personal dog is funny with other dogs and he is scaring her.   If you would like to meet Fefe please fill out an application from our website.

Adoption Process
We have a thorough adoption process that includes an adoption application, vet check (All current and past pets have to be current on vacs. and spayed/neutered), and home check (fence required for larger dogs, etc.). If those come out good and the adoption is finalized, there is an adoption fee that is paid and a contract is signed by the adopter stating that the animal must be routinely vetted and the animal is not allowed to go to any other home w/out the rescue's approval. All of our animals are spayed/neutered before adopting out and currenton vacs (as well as flea and HW meds).

Look for other dogs for adoption!
