COURTESY LISTING  - Please contact person below with inquiries.   ~8 months old.  Good with dogs. Kids and cats TBD.    Allison Daughtry Garner, NC   [email protected]   Date Posted: 03/28/24   Xena is an approx. 8 month old GSD. She is mostly housebroken as in she has learned to tell you when she needs to go out, but if not caught quick enough she has had some accidents. Mostly kennel trained, will go in with “kennel” command. (Especially for a treat) Reason for rehoming is that I’ve been struggling with some medical issues, and with how things are going I cannot work with her and give her everything she needs as far as exercise, enrichment, and training. Onto her training, I had begun training with the kennel and potty, and had started on obedience and manners and ended up dropping the ball once I started experiencing my medical issues. I’m looking for someone who has experience or knowledge of what this breed needs, and has the time and capability to continue her training as she does have unwanted behaviors due to no fault of her own. She truly is a sweet dog. I can go into more detail on what she needs working on if there is anyone interested. She has also been around older children (10 yrs) and was rough but okay, but I do not think small children are okay right now. She loves splashing in water and mud, and loves the few dogs she has met.   PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG. ONLY CONTACT THIS INDIVIDUAL ABOUT THIS DOG. THE CONTACT HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH GSRA AND GSRA CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG.

Adoption Process
We require an application to be filled out on our website - http://gsdrescue.org/index.html After the application is submitted a Vet Check, Phone Interview, and Home Visit are required to receive approval for adoption. Once approval is granted then the applicant and a GSD match is made then a trial will take place (usually 1 week). The adoption fee is $300 and an adoption contract is required at the time of the trial.
