Meet Nika (BMSR)

NIKA ~1.5 years old. Good with large dogs and kids over 16. Not good with cats or small dogs. Needs experienced GSD adopters and a fenced yard. Residents of NC and SC Click to apply for Nika Please Note: This link will take you to Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue.                Good things come in small packages.  Meet Nika our sweet and petite girl.   She is about 1 1/2 years old and has had quite an adventure in her young life.  She has already had a litter of puppies and her family left her tied to a tree with her puppies beside her.  Although this was a terrible experience, Nika doesn’t let that keep her down.  Nika has a wonderful personality and loves to meet people.  Although she is young she doesn’t have that crazy puppy energy.  She loves to play ball and run around with her favorite toy and then she likes to relax with her people.   Nika is very affectionate and enjoys attention.  She will bond quickly with her new family and enjoy following you around in typical German shepherd fashion.  Nika is very smart and observant.  She is a quick learner and knows her obedience training very well.  She enjoys learning new things and if treats are involved she is your girl.  Nika walks great on leash and enjoys her daily walks.  She also loves car rides.    Although Nika didn’t have the opportunity to meet many dogs in her previous life, she does well with other dogs.  She doesn’t like very high energy dogs and does have a high prey drive so definitely NO small dogs please and DEFINITELY no cats!!!  She would do best with a medium or large male dog but most likely would not enjoy living with another female.   Nika is a beautiful, sweet and loving girl who will make a great companion to a lucky family who will give her the life she deserves.  Although she does seem to do well with children, we will only place her in a home with children over 16 years of age.   Nika would thrive with an experienced shepherd family that will help her continue her journey to learning about the world.  And must have a secure fenced in yard.     Nike is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on monthly heartworm preventative.  If you are interested in this beautiful treasure, please click to apply for Nika

Adoption Process
We require an application to be filled out on our website - http://gsdrescue.org/index.html After the application is submitted a Vet Check, Phone Interview, and Home Visit are required to receive approval for adoption. Once approval is granted then the applicant and a GSD match is made then a trial will take place (usually 1 week). The adoption fee is $300 and an adoption contract is required at the time of the trial.
