Meet Mr. Buckles

Meet Mr. Buckles—also  known as Buckles B, Huckleberry Buckleberry, or Bucky Boy! This sweet dog is simply the best! He was found in a park, looking a bit worse for wear, but with a little love and care, he's ready to find his forever family. Buckles is about 8 years old and may be a poodle mix. Buckles has a wonderfully quirky personality! He has some neurological issues, likely from birth, which give him a wobble in his walk and stance. But you know what? That doesn’t hold him back one bit! He’s just like a normal dog, full of energy and personality. In fact, he’s even more well-behaved than some of the dogs in his foster mom's home! This little guy is leash trained and loves going on short walks. While he doesn’t need a fully fenced yard, he does enjoy playing outside, so a little space to romp around would be great! You'll often find him lounging in the sun while his foster mom gardens. Buckles has a good routine when it comes to potty breaks—just take him out regularly, and he's got it covered! He can’t go down stairs, but he manage going up a few. We try to carry him but sometimes he surprises us by getting up there on his own! Buckles likes playing with toys—it’s so much fun to watch him toss around his stuffed animals and try to catch them! He really has the heart of a pup! He gets along with other dogs, but he appreciates his space and will let them know if they get a little too jumpy. He may get a bit excited when it comes to treats, but it’s all in good fun! Buckles would do wonderfully with a calm older dog or could happily be your one and only. Older kids are fine too.  Mr. Buckles has a big bark when he gets excited, but if that is not a problem, apartment living would be fine.  If you’re a fan of the underdog, the unique, and the special, Buckles checks all those boxes!  Buckles has been professionally groomed and will need regular grooming to keep him looking his best. He truly enjoys being spoiled! Mr. Buckles is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $400, which helps cover his medical needs and care. As part of our adoption policy, we require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have one, you can purchase it from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog’s safety and security. We do have a small requirement: we ask that a martingale collar be used during adoption for his safety.
