Meet Rusty

Rusty is looking for his new home!  He is a 7 year old Corgi and just as cute as they come!  Rusty is a local dog, surrendered to us by his family when it became apparent that Rusty did not tolerate the young children.  It was the right decision for them and Rusty.   Rusty is our mellow fellow!  He has found his spot in his foster home and that is where we can find him anytime!  He happily snoozes the day away on a comfy bed. Rusty has adjusted well to his foster home but it did take a few days for him.  We will assume the same for his next home.  Rusty is fine with the other dogs but prefers to be on his own.  He doesn't give the house cats much attention either.  Rusty is very food motivated and loves his treats - maybe a little too much as he could stand to lose a few pounds!  He likes to be in the kitchen when his foster mom is cooking in hopes of something being dropped.  If you do drop something - you won't get it back from him.  Rusty did not enjoy living with children and will be placed in an adult only home. Even if you think your kids are good with dogs and will leave him alone, it's not happening. We will not set him up for failure.   If kids visit, he should be crated or separated in another room.   Rusty is housetrained  - he tends to go to the same spot in his foster yard too.  He enjoys sitting outside and soaks up the sun and fresh air on nice days.  He will bark if he hears people approaching but otherwise pretty quiet.  He is leash trained too but is strong and will pull if he wants to go somewhere.  He loves to go for car rides too.   Rusty is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $450
