Meet Chalupa

Sweet Senior alert!  Chalupa is a Senior rat terrier that was rescued from a shelter in Baton Rouge.  He is roughly about 11 years old and 20 pounds.   Chalupa is a laid back soul that loves being in a home instead of a scary shelter.  He is set in his ways and does not want a busy home.  Chalupa needs a bit of time to adjust in a new home so owner experience would be best.  He needs to get to know you and trust you.  He is most happy in a little bed and if the weather is cold, a floor heater is his best friend!  Chalupa is not a highly active dog, he is more of a couch potato.  Chalupa appears to be housetrained and is always keen to go outside.  He will often go to the door to let you know he would like to go outside. He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and loves to wander in it when we are outside.  He walks nicely on a leash too and is eager to go for walks.  Chalupa is fine with other dogs, he does not want to play or wrestle but will sleep with them and just hang out in the house.  For some reason the other dogs in his foster home always wants to play with him.  Sometimes he will, sometimes he won't.  When they get rowdy, he will bark at them.  Chalupa should be in a kid free home but if they come to visit, he will be fine if left alone or crated.  Chalupa is looking for a quiet retirement home to spend his golden years in.  He will be great as a companion for someone that would like a little buddy to hang out with, go on an occasional walk or car ride with.     Chalupa is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental.  His adoption fee is $150
