Meet Patrick

Patrick was found as a stray, and stayed around the house of the people who found him for two weeks before ending up at the shelter. They said he was a friendly dog that got along with them and their kids. He got along with their dogs, except when it came to eating. They said he was food aggressive around their dogs. He was recently given treats while taking turns with another shelter dog, and neither of them showed any aggression, so we still haven’t witnessed any food aggression while he’s been at the shelter. When he first showed up at the shelter he was immediately friendly with his tail up and wagging, even after a stressful ride in the back of a truck to get transported to the shelter. He calmly walked on a leash to be put in his kennel, and was happy to get attention. Patrick is an energetic and playful guy who loves going on walks and being with people. Everyone loves his goofy personality and his big ears that flop around when he's excited. Patrick can climb chain link fencing, as he illustrated recently at the shelter lol, so keep that in mind when trying to contain him outside. When he escaped he just used the opportunity to eat cat food, and wait to be brought back inside like a good boy. He recently went on a short jog with one of the volunteers and he did great. He stayed at the same speed to run alongside the volunteer, and absolutely loved it. He would make an excellent exercise partner.
