Meet TK

Meet TK, a handsome but very shy 3 year old boy, a Lab/Pit-mix,  who is up for adoption at Carroll Co GA Animal Shelter! In fact, TK is so shy and gentle that he tends to stay in the back of his pen when new people approach. Sadly, most people move on to look at other dogs, and miss out on meeting this special boy who will be a wonderful companion. All that’s needed is a little bit of patience and you will quickly be rewarded with seeing the real TK shine through! A few soft treats and a walk in the shelter park bring out his sweet, heart-melting smile as well as his confidence. He will transform into a playful loving dog right in front of your eyes! It has been so rewarding seeing TK open up and trust us volunteers, and now when he sees me I am greeted with the happiest tippy taps and tail wags. He brings a smile to my face every time I see him and I can’t wait until he is given the opportunity to fully flourish and show all the love he has to give! So please give this sweet boy a chance… just a few minutes… and you will quickly see why shelter volunteers have fallen for this very special boy! Adopt and love TK, and he will love you back with all of his heart!  TK was originally adopted from us as a puppy in early 2021 but was returned after his owner lost their job. TK is very shy and slow to warm up, but once he trusts you then he absolutely adores you! We believe TK was not given a lot of socialization in his previous home. He seems to be a little weary of most dogs, but that might just be because he is scared and unsure here. We definitely encourage a meet-n-greet if you have other dogs. TK likes toys, especially the rope ones, and seems content to play by himself if he has to. TK just needs to find a family who will be patient with him while he adjusts to his whole world turning upside down. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
