Meet Ohio
Ohio is 1 of 3 pups that got surrendered to us due to the owner not being able to care for them. Ohio is the big silver one in the litter, and the biggest out of the 3. They are all still adjusting to the shelter environment, but are puppies still so they are pretty resilient! They have been doing so well with not going potty in their inside kennel, and either go outside in the yard, or if the yard isn't available, they will go in their outside run. Overnight, no poops in their kennel either, just a few pee spots. They are learning new things and getting socialized very quickly here with all the hustle and bustle and the public or volunteers coming in to say hi! He's working on the sit and lay down commands and for such a young man, Ohio is doing great on a leash. He zigzags a bit to smell stuff, makes the cutest piggy grunt when he smells something particularly interesting and periodically 'bounds' after a blowing leaf! He has the most gorgeous and soft silver coat and beautiful eyes. These lab pups won't last long! Please remember when your adopting a puppy, they are a 10-15 year commitment. They will need socializing, obedience, teething training and lots of love and patience! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts. Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at :https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-guidelines/
