Meet Jasper
Jasper came in with Horace and a snout full of porcupine quills! They were removed that night however, Jasper still has a healing sore on his snout. This sweet lab mix remains unclaimed and is looking for a new family to share all his love and loyalty. Jasper is approximately 2 years old, and a little timid at first, but if you have some food, and willing to give some hugs or belly rubs, he will become your best friend! He's a perfect, medium size weighing in at 45 lbs, with a shiny black coat and he loves cuddles - so he'd make a great lap dog if you let him. He'd have to be invited up on the couch though as he appears to have some good manners and seems to know some basic commands - with a little practice, he'll be a pro! He doesn't jump up on you, so kids would be okay with this guy. He gets along with other dogs if properly introduced, but does not like cats. He loves to go on walks and he's been really good on a leash, walking sedately on the side or slightly ahead. He likes to throw around a stuffed toy and chase around after his bestie Horace when he has the opportunity. He is a lovable guy, and very food motivated so additional training should be a piece of cake. When you meet Jasper you'll be meeting your new best friend! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts. Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at :https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-guidelines/
