Meet Acqua
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.orgThis little sweetheart is sugar and spice and everything nice!Aqua is 6 months old and about 20lb with long legs. She will be a perfect medium size adult! She will be an easy size to toss in a car for an adventure, small enough to remain a lap cuddling dog (or at least half in your lap!), yet big enough to go on longer walks and hikes if that’s your jam! Aqua arrived to The Rescue Crew from the streets of Tijuana Mexico where there is a vast overpopulation of dogs without homes available. It’s likely she knows Spanish so feel free to quiz her ;) She is a smart little lady who has already learned the sit command and would gladly learn more in exchange for a treat!Aqua is great with cats and dogs, and kids of all ages. She loves toys and playing with other dogs too! She’s doing super great with house training on a schedule, is crate trained, and is learning about being a leash for the first time in her life. With exposure and time, she will be a great leash walking buddy! Her personality is easy going, passive, submissive, and a chill to low/moderate energy level. She loves to sit next to her people or cuddle up, and also likes to be involved in any action going on in the house or yard! Her coat is very short and sleek so she will require no coat maintenance beyond some occasional brushing when you want to, not because you have it ;)If you’re looking for a sweet best friend, Aqua is your girl! She’s going to make a forever family incredibly happy. Maybe that could be you! Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
