Update 4.20.24 Skipper is a spirited and energetic dog with a heart of gold. This four and a half year-old pup has mastered the art of "leave it" when it comes to dinner time, showing impressive self-control and obedience. However, he's still working on his sitting and laying down commands, but with patience and positive reinforcement, he's sure to get there soon. Skipper is a pro on the leash, walking with grace and ease by your side. However, his enthusiasm for the great outdoors sometimes gets the better of him. When he spots animals outside, his excitement knows no bounds, and he can't resist the urge to chase after them. Although he may get a bit overwhelmed with all the stimuli, his intentions are always pure, and he's never aggressive towards other animals. With a little extra training and plenty of adventures together, Skipper is bound to become the perfect companion for anyone who loves an enthusiastic and lovable pup by their side.   New to rescue 2.25.24 My names Skipper! I am a 4 and a 1/2 year old male boxer. I am neutered. I have a lot of energy but I calm down quickly. I love to run and exercise & chase a ball! I’m very treat motivated and willing to learn, but it takes a little more practice and patience. Im crate trained & although I’d rather cuddle with you in bed, I do enjoy sleeping in my kennel. I absolutely love to sleep in a fluffy bed and cuddle my stuffed animal. I do not do well with other dogs or cats. My sister and I get overwhelmed around other animals & will start tussling with each other. I’m really enjoying learning all the fun words like “treat” “outside” and “car ride” means! I love to play with toys, chase a ball, and chew on bones. Im a big lover, and i love to have fun! I have no idea what personal space is and I couldn’t be happier about it!

Adoption Process
Application --> background check --> personal reference and vet checks --> home visit; once approved the applicant can meet available dogs. Adoption agreement, obedience, and spay/neuter (if applicable) plus adoption fee to complete adoption process.
