Little Big Dog Rescue, Inc.

Jeanne Lou and Dot Terry have been rescuing dogs for several years. We decided to form a non-profit rescue so that we could fundraise to support our mission. Dot's mission is to provide a permanent home at Dot's Old Dogs Home for large-breed senior dogs whose owners have died or gone into a nursing home. These dogs do not do well in shelters, and will not get adopted. At our sanctuary, these dogs have a promise of a forever home, but are also promoted for adoption because there's nothing better than your very own human. Jeanne Lou's mission is to rescue chained/penned and yard-sale dogs. A lot of these dogs tend to be the smaller breeds, thus the name, Little Big Dog, because we rescue the little ones and the big ones. Jeanne Lou's rescues are placed in foster homes, vetted, s/n'd, socialized, and offered for adoption.

Meet Rosie

Rosie is the Lauren Bacall of dogs. Tall, slim, composed, attractive. She is in very good health but is arthritic. Rosie's hearing and vision are 100%. Rosie is largely a couch potato. She loves lying outside in the warmth of the sun, and loves napping indoors on cold or wet days. She would be a great companion for someone who works at home. Rosie cannot take long walks, but her arthritis is managed with pain meds and she is not in any stress. Rosie is 12 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. She is low-maintenance and low-activity. She is moderately affectionate. Underneath her self-sufficient exterior is a dog whose heart beats with joy when she experiences the love of a human.

Adoption Process
Adoption application; references checked; home visit done. The adoption fee is $200. We have an adoption contract which enumerates our requirements for the animal to be a family pet, and that the animal be returned to our rescue if the adopter cannot keep the dog. We require dogs to be family pets, living indoors.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
