Animal Control and Welfare Project, Inc

We are a 501c3 foster/donor/volunteer based organization with very limited resources. Our county does not have a shelter so the longer a foster spot is occupied, the more dogs we have to turn away. If we can’t take them from our ACO, they are killed. We have developed a great rescue network but s/n and education is the solution to problem.

Meet Charlie (14yo, 30lbs)

Meet Charlie. This senior boy is looking for a loving home to live it out his years. He was found all alone and brought to a local vet hoping to find his owners. No one ever claimed him.  Although it is difficult to tell much of the time because he is such an active and energetic fellow, Charlie is mostly blind. He does not let this slow him down, however! Charlie is desperately seeking a seeing eye human who wants a loyal friend who will follow them everywhere, cuddle with them on the couch, go with them on walks and car rides to meet new people, and to share snacks! Charlie gets along with other dogs (as long as they don’t steal his stuffed monkey — he hates that and will yell a lot) as well as cats. He has met children and checks out from preschool up; he has met and visited with older folks in wheelchairs and motorized scooters as well as kids on bikes and skateboards. You could not ask for a friendlier fellow — he even likes men with beards and hats, the arch nemesis for some of his foster sibling dogs.   Charlie is an older fellow and is on a daily heart medication for a congenital heart defect but he is very active and energetic and has a lot of life to live. If you could provide this fellow with a home free of stuffed monkey thievery, please consider adopting! He would love to meet you and be your friend forever!
