Paws Across Pittsburgh is a 501(c)(3), foster based, non-profit animal rescue located in the Pgh area. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome homeless, abused and/or unwanted dogs and cats.We are run solely by volunteers with the goal of providing vet care, socialization skills and nutritional needs while living in a loving foster home. All animals that enter into the rescue will receive appropriate vet care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and preventative treatments.Our goal is to assure a loving, forever home for each one of our animals.We have a monthly pet pantry, provide temporary fostering for emergency situations, have a Senior pets for Seniors program, and more.

Meet Panama

Meet Panama (aka Panny, aka Penny)! 5-Year-Old Female Shih Tzu 8lb of pure cuteness  Spayed & Up-to-Date on Vaccines- dental completed (teefers nice and clean)  Panama came to us from a tough situation, but her sweet and gentle spirit is starting to shine through. She’s experiencing many things for the very first time, and each day she’s bravely coming out of her shell. Here’s what we know about her so far:  She LOVES mealtime and never says no to a treat.  She enjoys carrying around her little toys like prized treasures, showing them off with pride.  She likes going on walks with her doggy friends and feels comforted by being part of a pack.  Panama’s ideal home: Another confident dog (or two!) around her size to show her the ropes. Patient and understanding adopters who are home more often than not- still working on housebreaking but it is going well and will wear a diaper no problem A calmer household with teenage children or older. A family ready to give her the time and space she needs to fully blossom.  Panama may be shy at first, but with love, patience, and a supportive home, she’s sure to thrive and show just how wonderful she truly is.
