Meet Sadie

Sadie is a 12-year-old, 26.5-pound dachshund mix with a heart as big as she is. She may be carrying a little extra fluff right now (we're helping her shed a few pounds), but that just means there’s more of her to snuggle—and she’s very snuggly. This gentle girl is truly a gem. Her foster says she might be the kindest dog they've ever had, and it’s easy to see why. Sadie adores being near her people—whether she’s quietly following you from room to room or curling up in your lap for a nap. She’s calm, quiet, and perfectly happy snoozing in her crate while you’re out. It’s taken her a little over a week, but Sadie is starting to come out of her shell—and it’s a joy to watch. Her silly side is beginning to shine through, and she’s even starting to romp around a bit. Sadie is wonderful with kids and friendly with everyone she meets. While she hasn't been tested with cats, her mellow personality suggests she’d likely do just fine with them. She’s still working on her house training, but with patience and consistency, she’s making progress.Because of her current weight, stairs can be a challenge—but she doesn’t mind a lift up or down until she’s feeling lighter on her paws.Sadie came to us after her loving senior parents had to move to a care facility where she couldn’t follow. Now, she’s looking for a soft landing in a home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love, peace, and plenty of belly rubs. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and will be available for adoption starting 10/5/25 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL# 16182.
