Paws Across Pittsburgh is a 501(c)(3), foster based, non-profit animal rescue located in the Pgh area. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome homeless, abused and/or unwanted dogs and cats.We are run solely by volunteers with the goal of providing vet care, socialization skills and nutritional needs while living in a loving foster home. All animals that enter into the rescue will receive appropriate vet care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and preventative treatments.Our goal is to assure a loving, forever home for each one of our animals.We have a monthly pet pantry, provide temporary fostering for emergency situations, have a Senior pets for Seniors program, and more.

Meet Stumpy

Stumpy is an 8-month-old Australian Shepherd mix with the perfect balance of playful energy and calm companionship. He is fully housetrained, crate-trained, and happily relaxes in his crate when no one is home—making him an easy and adaptable housemate. This sweet boy loves to zoom around the backyard once or twice a day to get his wiggles out, then settles down happily for some quiet time. Stumpy has a curious spirit and enjoys exploring his world, but he’s just as content to relax by your side. His favorite toys are anything squeaky—he’ll happily entertain himself with them and make you smile in the process. Stumpy would thrive in a home where he can enjoy both play and downtime, with a family ready to give him love and guidance as he grows.
