Meet Muffin (S. Korea) hz
Hi there! My name is Muffin, and I’m looking for my forever home. Breed: Jindo mixAge: 6 MonthsGender: Female Weight: 24 lb (I'm still growing)Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, socialI may be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’ll open up my heart to you. I’m just a young pup, about 6 months old now, and I’ve already been through quite a bit. I came into the city pound last January with my three siblings—without our mama. No one came to adopt me for two whole months, and I was getting close to being out of time… but then, a kind rescue stepped in and saved me!Now, I’m living in a foster home with my brothers and sister (including my sweet sis, S’more!) where I’m learning what it means to be a dog in this big, exciting world. It's a little scary sometimes—but I’m trying really hard and making progress every day. Things I’m great at: Playing with other dogs—especially my siblings! I LOVE playtime. Being gentle around cats (I spent a few days with some and didn’t even bark!). Staying calm and quiet—yep, I rarely bark! Not guarding my toys or food—I’m happy to share. Being adorable… obviously. Things I’m still learning: How to walk confidently on a leash. Right now, I sometimes get scared and might freeze or lie down flat. But I’m working on it with my foster mom and getting braver! Potty training—it’s a work in progress. Car rides—they still make me a little nervous. I don’t have separation anxiety, and I’m not an escape artist. I just want a patient, kind family who will help me grow into the confident, happy dog I’m meant to be. I have lots of puppy energy at home, so playtime, toys, and maybe another friendly dog buddy would be awesome!Could you be the one to show me what love really feels like?Love, Muffin I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: YesKids: UnsureEnergy level: High as I'm still in my puppyhoodFears: I'm still nervous about outer world. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Please be paitient and prepare to assist me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
