Meet Stitch
~~THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT [email protected] THANK YOU~~Please meet Stitch. He is a 3-4 year old male, who we believe to be a Staffordshire bull terrier and Shar Pei mix. He is 65ish lbs and is a handsome guy with golden eyes and a brown and white shorthair coat. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and housebroken. He was rescued off the streets in 2022 and we have been working hard to show him how life can be good. He’s come a long way. He does well in our house with our other dog during the day while we work.Stitch loves his routine and he is good with our 10 year old daughter. He’s a big time cuddle buddy and is very affectionate giving lots of kisses. He loves sun bathing and relaxing out in the yard for hours. He is very quiet and rarely barks. He does well in the car and on road trips. And his favorite daily activity is running along side us while we go for bike rides.Stitch walks well on a leash and needs a ride/run or a good walk daily to insure he feels his best. You’ll know if he gets pent up because he makes it clear with his puppy like dance moves and wiggles.Unfortunately Stitch can be dog reactive, and the more the other dog is reactive the worse it is. Mellow dogs are easier for him to ignore. It’s mostly seeing them that interests him. He can be hit and miss with dogs he meets. He sometimes is okay with meeting them and other times not.Stitch is a great dog but needs time to adjust to new people and situations. He needs someone who is experienced and has the time, patience and know how to handle some of his behavioral challenges.Stitch has a high prey drive so we believe cats or small animals would be a bad mix. We also do not know how well he would do with small children. He has some resource guarding issues that we have been working on.I have worked very hard on trying to build trust with him. He likes affection and being petted but is still leary when you try to give him a flea treatment or get a thorn out of his paw etc.We want what’s best for Stich so are hoping we can find a loving, patient home to continue helping him grow into the amazing dog he should have always been allowed to be. Are you his person/people?~~THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT [email protected] THANK YOU~~
