Animal Profile: Meet Cliff! We were contacted by our rescue partner, Saving Shelters Strays in Texas to bring Cliff to Washington for the opportunity to find his furever home. Cliff is estimated to be 2 years old, 80lbs and a Great Dane mix. He is big, goofy and lover of all dogs. He is on the soft side, likes meeting new people slow but he is not scared. When brought our in public, he did very well and was excited to meet new people. He met cats at the clinic and was friendly. Cliff will be joining us on Friday, June 13th and we will share more from his foster as we get to know him. Foster Update: Cliff is a big, silly goofball and would love a family who wants to play and is able to handle a pup of his size. He has a moderate energy level, loves his walks, and enjoys a few per day as we don't have a fenced in yard for him to run around in. He is great in his crate, is quick to settle down and relax, and will nap in his crate for long stretches during the day. When outside of the crate Cliff typically wants to play with toys and follow us around if we aren't sitting down working/eating/watching TV. He is not very vocal, but occasionally whines to get our attention when he wants to play. Cliff has met a couple of our neighbors and has been very friendly with them. While out on walks he does become quite alert when we see other people/dogs walking nearby and may bark, but we think it's most likely that he wants to play based on his demeanor. We are working on Cliff’s leash manners as he can get excited when he sees small critters, dogs, and people and will try to pull towards them. Given his size and strength he will benefit from an experienced handler and some ongoing training in this area. Cliff is a quick learner and quite food motivated; so far we've taught him "sit" and "down" and will continue to work with him on basic commands. He is friendly with other dogs and we think he’d love another dog to play with, but would be fine as an only dog with an active family as well. Cliff does well in the car and would love to join you on outdoor PNW adventures! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test.
