Animal Profile: Duke is an estimated 3.5 month old male, Doberman mixed puppy joining us from Texas on Monday, 6/09. Duke and his siblings have been in a Texas foster home since 4/29 after being found in a box by a local business owner. They are healthy and happy waiting for their ride to the PNW. Foster Update: Duke is a smart, confident, playful, and adventurous puppy who has an undeniable joy for life. He can be a total goofball, but is also brave and observant. He loves dogs and humans alike — really anyone who will play with him. He is an active pup, but can occupy himself with lots of toys and chews, and the occasional snooping. While I work, he will play with toys by himself. After a play session, he loves to sleep cuddling your feet. He already happily trots around the block on leash with our small resident dog. Duke would love an adopter who is as active and adventurous as he is, and who loves a good foot warmer at the end of the day. A playful/energetic dog in his forever home would be great, but a home without a dog would be okay as long as you have plans for socialization. True to his breed, Duke learns very quickly! He is doing really well with crate training. Potty training is going well, and with routine and frequent potty breaks he is doing great. Duke will thrive in a home committed to training, socialization, and exercising him both physically and mentally. He has been such a joy to have around the house, and is such a fun puppy. Adopter Profile: Working breed/large breed dog experience preferred. Doberman experience a plus. No first time dog owners. Securely fenced yard preferred. Single family residence required (no apartments). Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate.
