Saving Great Animals

We are a group of volunteers to aim to save as many death row animals as possible. We work solely through a network of fosters and trial adopters and do not have a facility. We feel that shelter animals deserve a second chance and that euthanasia is not the answer.

Meet Zero

Meet Zero! Sweet Zero is a 7 year mixed breed dog, around 16 lbs. He is very well trained! He is looking for a new home due to a change in circumstances in his original home. Zero is outgoing and eager to work for food or toys. He has a great off switch in the house and is capable of turning the energy up for playtime and down for rest time. He can be a bit anxious about seeing dogs on leash and has some mild reactivity which consists primarily of high pitched whining. Off leash he is neutral to other dogs, has gone to the dog park without issues and lives with a large female dog. He's very sweet and likes to be velcro but also knows "place" and "off" commands to keep him out of the way when needed. Overall he's a happy and optimistic little guy.     Zero does not love the unpredictable movements of younger children. We recommend him with kids over 12 only. Zero is house trained, crate trained, knows all basic commands (recall, sit, down, stay, in/out, up/off, 'crate up', quiet, drop it, leave it) and some neat tricks (roll over, speak, shake left/right, spin, fetch). He's trustworthy both in and out of the crate, having never had an accident. He's great with cats, particularly dog-savvy ones of a similar size to him. He minds his business off leash and enjoys engaging with teens and adults. Highly food motivated and very easy to teach new commands or tricks. He's an easy dog to groom, not bothered by bathing or nail care. No issues regarding fearfulness of loud noises like fireworks or construction, not a big barker in the house. His energy level if versatile - he can go all day playing high arousal games, running or walking, or he can stay inside on the couch all week with no demonstrable effect on his behavior. He likes to snuggle but is respectful of boundaries when told to go lay down elsewhere or to get off of furniture. Because of his small size, he's easy to walk and doesn't mind being carried for short amounts of time. In general, he's an easy keeper and a pretty "turn key" dog. Zero is vaccinated, chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $395

Adoption Process
We pull dogs from kill shelters and place them with fosters or trial adopters. All adoptions have 2 week trial. Adoption donation is made after trial period and certificate of ownership is issued. We also bring animals from owner surrenders into our organization so that they never enter the shelter system. We check references for all applicants and complete home checks. A great deal of our dogs are transported from CA to Seattle once we have found a foster or trial for them.
