Animal Profile: Kamala is an estimated 2 year old 45 lb spayed female mixed breed -- possibly McNab or Border Collie with lab. She's a unique looking dog with a adorable spots and ears. She was dumped in the country left to fend for herself. She has been assessed to be fun and active; a little nosy, she wants to know what's going on with everyone. She is very smart, people and dog friendly. Foster Update: Kamala is a smart sensitive sweetheart. True to her breed, she's a velcro dog who needs mental as well as physical exercise. Millie is such a wonderful, affectionate, excited young girl. She's amazing in the crate. She settles almost immediately and will happily spend a few hours there. She's housetrained and sleeps through the night in her crate. She loves playing with our dog, with his bones and stuffed animals, or the plethora of tennis balls we have in the house and the backyard. Millie is easy to take on walks and runs (walks/runs nicely on leash, isn't reactive to other dogs) and seems to really enjoy the exercise. She's excitable in the house and is learning about the appropriate way to ask for affection (e.g. learning not to jump up). True to her breed mix, she's easily excitable and runs a bit anxious. She thrives when she's clear on expectations and what she's supposed to be doing. Millie would do best in an active household that can stimulate her mentally and physically. Along with being active, she'll do best in a home that can help teach her how to settle through structured training. Children 10 + ok. A balanced doggie companion a plus. Experience with herder breeds required. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA guidelines, negative heartworm test, and microchip. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. S/he will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care in the greater Seattle area. Millie is such a wonderful, affectionate, excited young girl. We've only had her for a few days and we love how smart and playful she is. Our guess is that she's a heeler mix (she looks a lot like our resident border collie heeler mix) and smaller than the 45lbs quoted in her bio. She's smaller than our resident dog who is 40ish pounds. She's amazing in the crate. She settles almost immediately and will happily spend a few hours there. She's housetrained and sleeps through the night in her crate. She thrives when she's clear on expectations and what she's supposed to be doing. She's still very new to our family, so we'll see how she calms down once she gets more used to our routine. Millie would do best in an active household that can stimulate her mentally and physically. Along with being active, she'll do best in a home that can help teach her how to settle through structured training. Since she's still working on jumping up, we wouldn't recommend her going to a home with small children. Another dog in the home that she can play and learn from would be great. Experience with herder breeds a plus.
