Meet MAY (Turkey) kt
Hellooooo everyone. My name is May and here is a bit about me:Breed: Terrier MixAge: 7 monthsGender: maleWeight: 9 kgHeight: 34 cmCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlights: gentle, playful, cuddly, sweet, affectionateThey call me a gentle pup in a tuxedo. I'm a young, affectionate boy with a striking appearance and an even sweeter heart. My momma, me and my sibling were found by our rescuer. We were starving, shaking, our eyes full of fear. Our momma shielded us pups, fed us with whatever strength she had left, and never left our side. She would growl softly when anyone came close—not out of aggression, but from fear. Fear that someone might hurt us, like so many had before. My earliest memories are of my mother’s warmth and her steady heartbeat, as we curled together, hungry and afraid. We didn’t have much—just each other and the distant sounds of a world that had never been kind to us.We hadn’t eaten in days. Then one day, we heard voices that were different. Gentle. Patient. Kind. She came every day, bringing food, sitting quietly, letting trust bloom slowly. It was the first time we knew kindness. She brought us to safety. But life was cruel and my sibling passed away before we could get to the vet. So, it is just me and my momma now. She named me May for the month I dream of being adopted and my momma Spring (also posted), for renewal, growth, and hope.Since the time of our rescue, I have been growing stronger, braver, and more playful each day. I'm learning how to trust and how to love.My coat is soft and curly, colored in elegant black and white, with a white patch on my chest that looks exactly like a little tie—making me look like I'm always dressed for a formal event. But don't let the fancy look fool you—I'm down-to-earth, cuddly, and full of love.I start out in a calm phase as I get used to my surroundings. Once I feel secure, I become more playful and confident—but still within a balanced energy level. Both up for adventures, but also happy to chill beside you.I love to follow my mom and find comfort in her presence. So having another dog may be good for me. At the same time, I'm incredibly quick to form bonds with people and easily warm up to new friends. I play well and know how to share his space. Having grown up in a vet clinic, I've been around cats and dogs.Walks are one of my fav activities. I enjoy staying close to my human, walking side by side with soft curiosity in my eyes. And at the end of the day, I'm the kind of dog who will happily curl up with you on the couch, content just being near you. I'm ready for my forever home—a place where I can feel loved, safe, and truly belong. Are you the one I've been waiting for?Videos coming soon.Energy Level: Moderate to Moderate-highI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: yesKids: UnknownFears: none observed. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
