Meet Phoebe
~~THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT [email protected] THANK YOU~~Phoebe is a 6 year old Heeler/Pittie mix. She is spayed, housebroken and up-to-date on all her vaccines.Phoebe is an amazing girl but is shy at first when meeting new people. Once she gets to know you she is a spunky, athletic girl who is super affectionate and loves to snuggle/pretzel herself around her owner at night. She is super soft, so cuddling with her is one of my biggest joys. She is a high-energy dog, which would be best suited for someone with an already active lifestyle. She is an excellent hiking/running partner. She gets nervous around loud noises, so a busy city apartment, or an environment with loud machinery would not benefit her. She would also have to be an only pet and can’t be around small children. She is great off-leash and has a good recall. She sometimes does this thing where she “scouts” the area in front of you to make sure it’s safe.Phoebe’s smart and funny and loves goofing around with her owner on the carpet. She also loves her “Chuck-it” and playing fetch. However, she is not good playing with dogs at the dog park and she will get reactive if other dogs try and steal her toy. Phoebe has no problem greeting other dogs on hikes however.I’m also interested in a co-parent/open-adoption kind of situation, if the circumstances allow it. For example, if the person who wants to take her in doesn’t have enough time for walks, I could come and take her on hikes. Or if someone could only take her temporarily, that is also an option.
