Animal Profile: Samoa is a stunning18-month-old GSD Boxer mix who has epic ears and the look of a Dutchie. She has been lovingly cared for since she was a puppy but her owner was deployed, leaving Samoa with extended family that didn't have the means to care for an energetic young pup. Samoa is friendly with other dogs, people and cats -- she can be overwhelming to many dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home or placed with tolerant/high energy/playful dogs. She is good with cats and kids, and has lived with both for over a year without issues. She is house trained and crate trained and has basic obedience training. She will bark at strangers coming to the house but is friendly upon meeting; no issues with strangers outside the house. Samoa has no history of aggression or biting -- she just needs a breed-savvy, active family. Foster Update: Samoa is currently being fostered at A Dog's Best Friend in Vancouver. This is a daycare/training setting. Note: She is a confident female and is pushy with other females. She loves to play with big boy dogs. She needs to learn spatial respect with other dogs but does well with corrections. Adoption Info: Samoa's adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Samoa was purchased as a puppy and lovingly raised but given to ill-equipped family members when her owner was deployed. The family has put her into training at DGS rescue partner A Dog's Best Friend in Vancouver and DGS has taken over for finding Samoa a suitable home.
