Meet Chip
We got Chip in 2019 as a rescue from Texas. Chip has a lot of anxiety especially when it comes to meeting new people. He is visibly nervous and will have his tail tucked and look to hide. Chip is a very handsome dog and as such people want to approach him and try and pet him and I have to wave them off because he will growl. We have had Chip on prozac for a bit to help with anxiety. He is not the best on leash and takes some coaxing to get going on walks because he is anxious. He is very good off leash and loves going to the off-leash area in Magnuson park and is good with other dogs at boarding facilities. We are looking to re-home him because his anxiety has become too much for my family to manage. He has exhibited some aggression towards members of family including my kids. The thing is he doesn't do this all the time, most often he is happy to sit on the couch with us and watch tv and clearly likes my kids. His unpredictability is a huge factor. I think Chip can be a great dog for someone that is more experienced with dogs with anxiety and aggression issues. Maybe someone that has more time to devote to him and can work with him to boost his confidence because I have been unsuccessful at that. I think an older person that is home a lot and doesn't get many visitors would be ideal. Or maybe someone with a confident dog that can show him the ropes. **** Breed: Hound Pointer mix **** Pet Link: https://www.nokillnetwork.org/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2154426&flag=1
