Meet Harper

Animal Profile:  Harper is an estimated 8-week-old female German Shepherd (mix?) who was found as a stray n San Joaquin and taken to the stray kennels on a water treatment property -- an outdoor kennel with no adoption program, or even, a website. Our rescue partner picked her up and she will be joining us in Seattle for fostering and adoption. Foster Update:  Harper is very sweet and enjoys both people and dogs. People she can take a minute to warm up. She doesn’t shy away but just isn’t her wiggly self the first couple minutes until she warms up. She is still pretty fresh off of transport so I expect that to get better with confidence and decompression.  She LOVES dogs and would love a canine older brother or sister. She has been around the cat and while interested, does not smother her. (My cat is also not one to run). Harper is a natural at fetch and already has a love for chuck-it balls! Medium-high food drive. Doing really well with crate training. A whine here or there throughout the day but nothing outrageous and she’s so young it will only get better. Potty training is also going well so far but remembering she’s still VERY young so accidents may still happen. She will be a good active companion for someone who loves to adventure, do dog sports or both! She will not be a couch potato. We are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, Shepherd/large breed dog experience preferred. We are not considering apartments at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from San Joaquin and transferred to Seattle area foster care on 03/24. This dog is fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.
