Meet ROCKY, A Dachshund mix boy

Rocky Background Rocky is a mix of Dachshund. Rocky was part of a 10-dog rescue to save lives at a California shelter. Rocky lost his family due to no fault of his own. He has been heartbroken and needs a family who will love him and give him security for the rest of his life. From his foster  " Rocky is an AMAZING boy!! He is short and stout, absolutely adorable!! He is very sweet with everyone once properly introduced. He sleeps either on my pillow or burrows under the covers next to me every night. Rocky uses the dog door like a champ! He  comes when called. He is fine with kid noise and dog noise. I really can't come up with a negative for him. LOVE this guy!!!" What Rocky Needs Rocky needs a committed human(s) who will love him unconditionally for the rest of his life and understand dogs are not commodities. Rocky is 5 years old and has lost his original family. He is heartbroken. Rocky can be an only dog, however, he does really well with all friendly dogs he would also love a home with 1-2 other dogs as buddies. Rocky requires a fenced yard for potty and folks who have time to dedicate to help him transition. Rocky has basic training. He walks really well on a Harness and lead. We do not know how he is with cats so it would be best to have a cat free/small animal-free home. He does really well with dog-savvy children over the age of 10. How to meet Rocky Rocky has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen.
