Hello! My name is Marlene and here is some information about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier MixAge: 6 years oldGender: female, spayedWeight: 11 lbs Energy level: Active and playfulHighlights: Happy, smart, playful, active, friendlyHi there! I’m a cute 6 years old Poodle/Terrier mix that just arrived to Vancouver. I was found roaming the streets in California and I ended up in a high kill shelter. Thankfully I was rescued before it was too late. I may still be a just dog, but I’ve already been on quite the journey. I'm happy that I'm finally safe in a foster home. I'd love to find my own family that have the time and patience for an active dog! I'm still learing on my skills including potty training. I'm very smart and I learn very quickly. I’m told I’m a cutie, with a low shedding scruffy coat and a sweet, expressive face that seems to make people smile. I have so much love to give, and I’m happiest when I’m with other playful friendly dogs. I’m eager to learn and would be a perfect match for any family who can spend time with me and teach me the ropes. I love meeting new friends, and I’m super curious about everything around me! I’m just discovering that with some guidance, I can learn lots of cool things. With a little bit of patience and love, I know I’ll become an amazing companion. If you think I could be the perfect addition to your family, I’d love to meet you and show you my best puppy grin! Please adopt me.Energy Level: HighI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: UnknownTraining: Please be prepared to continue with my training.Leash Skills: Some. Knows sit & working on Come. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older.
