Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

CLAY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Clay      Best Guess for Breed:   Lab and golden retriever mix  Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of September 2025        SEX:  Male    Approximate Weight:  24 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Clay would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Clay is Looking For:  Hi! I'm Clay. I'm a "sato," a dog from Puerto Rico. Island life can be nice and balmy but I want to get my own humans and the DC area seems like my best chance for that! So here I come - seeking a forever home where I get to go on sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures my new family can dream up. And lots of snuggles after fun days together. And quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all - to love and be loved. What do you say? Are you my home? What My Foster Says About Me:  He is very playful, has been doing well with learning to use the bathroom outside, and loves other dogs. He also does well in his crate and is fine being left alone. He takes cues well from other dogs. He loves people and treats, and if he has some training, he will make a great family dog! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!
