Meet Midnight: At shelter

Midnight feels great! Last week he want to the vet for a neuter, heartworm test, microchip, and a rabies shot. While he remains mellow, we discovered that he was positive for two tickborne diseases, ehrlichia and Lyme, and needed doxycycline to treat the symptoms. Best news of all is that after only a few days of the 28-day treatment, Midnight's personality is showing, and he is feeling GOOD! It's so important that dogs be tested yearly for both heartworms and tick-borne diseases! He is lovely with other dogs as well as with children of all ages and every adult he has met. (According to his previous humans, he is not good with cats.) Midnight weighs about 65 pounds, is five years old, and is beautifully housetrained. He walks easily on a leash, and really loves having time outside where he can just relax and rest in the grass. Despite his love of the outdoors, he is considered an indoor dog, and a fenced-in yard would be absolutely wonderful for him. Are you ready for a steady, sturdy friend? Go to our website at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, and fill out an application. We would love to see him adopted very soon. A dog this beautiful is too wonderful to pass up!   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at [email protected]. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.

Adoption Process
Begin with an application to adopt. Other pets in household must be spay/neutered, current with rabies vaccines, dogs need to be current with HW testing and heartguard. Fees range between $75 and $300. We follow up on spays/neuters for pets under six months, and the fees include spay/neuter. Contract requires it. Adults are adopted out already spayed/neutered. Pets must be returned to FOAC if adoption ends.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
