Meet Charlie

Charlie is an adorable, 6lb, approximately 4yrs old Maltese who is the ultimate little lovebug! This happy pup is a total people dog, although he gets along just fine with other dogs, he adores his people and would be fine as an only dog or with another dog under 10lbs in the home. This smart little guy came to us from a breeder and even though he never received any training, his experienced foster mommy has already leash and housetrained him. He also learned how to manage stairs with ease. Charlie loves to snuggle, especially on your lap. He puts his head on your shoulder and insists on cuddling at bedtime. He also enjoys exploring on his daily walks in quiet areas, loud vehicles scare him, so he’s a wonderful companion for a walker who does not live in a busy area.   Charlie would do best in a home where someone was home most of the day and only gone a couple of hours per day so he can get the love and attention he deserves. At 6 pounds, Charlie can easily walk through any fence spacing more than 1 ½ inches, so he needs a solid fence or one with wire between the pickets/bars.  If you are looking for a forever dog to love and have that love returned exponentially, Charlie is your dog!   The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC and VA. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. There is an application process and adoption fee. An all-adult home (no children or grandchildren) and a yard with a secure fence, 4ft or higher, which is attached to the home is required to adopt from Hart-2-Heart Rescue. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption fee is $500.
