Meet Tempest

The shelter is no place for a senior. Tempest is SUCH a sweet girl, she is housebroken, spayed, vaccinated, friendly, and SO LOVING!! She is the perfect size, not too big and not too small!! ...and LOOK AT THOSE TEEFS!!!! The ONLY two things our sweet Tempest has going against her: -She is 10 years old. -She would prefer to be an only pet. It is so difficult to find people willing to open their homes and hearts to a senior, and understandably so. Your time with them won't be as long as with a younger dog. But, as someone who has adopted multiple seniors (two of which lived for over three more years, even when adopted in double digit years!!), please let me tell you that there is NOTHING as rewarding as earning the love of a senior rescue and the time they give you is priceless!! They know that they have been given up on. Dumped. Abandoned. After being a part of a family for so long. They cling to the hope that their family will come back, but they never do. The only thing we can hope for, is that someone has it in their heart to help this sweet sugar face live out the remainder of her golden years in the comfort of a home, as she has known for so long. There is A LOT to be said about not dealing with puppy energy, house training, chewing, rough housing.... She is a turn-key, ready to go gal and she is so ready!!! She is very spry for her age and has been given a clean bill of health! She loves going for walks, and she loves snuggling up on the couch!! She would be best as an only dog, as she hasn't been the biggest fan of other shelter pups we have tried to get her to interact with, and she is not a candidate for a house with cats. The shelter is no place for a senior. To be preapproved to adopt, please fill out an application in the link provided https://friendsofbedfordcountyanimalshelter.rescuegroups. ...
