MEADOW NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Meadow Best Guess for Breed: Lab and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of May 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 22 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: Coming soon to the Lucky Dog rescue campus in South Carolina for heartworm treatment - then the DC area after that! Special adoption considerations: Meadow is a truly Lucky Dog. Although she has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process. Meadow is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweet girl is eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures they can dream up. And snuggles at the end of a fun day together. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well. But you know what she wants most of all?To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. Who her family is. She's ready to give them all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she's storing up for them - and all the loving, loyal companionship in her heart. What do you say? Is she the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time in foster care. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
