Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

ROCKS NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Rocks       Best Guess for Breed:    Lab/Retriever Mix     Best Guess for Age:    2 years as of 4/26/24       SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   41lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs. We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested!   Currently Living at:  Shelter. Rocks needs a foster or forever home!   Special adoption considerations: Rocks is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky!  They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months.   Rocks is Looking For:    Are you ready to welcome a bundle of love and loyalty into your life? Look no further because Rocks is here to steal your heart! This adorable black furball is not just your average dog – he's a canine companion extraordinaire, waiting to bring joy and companionship into your home.  Despite his rugged-sounding name, Rocks is a gentle soul who thrives on affection and attention. He would love nothing more than snuggling up with his favorite humans, soaking up all the love and belly rubs he can get. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood or a playful game of fetch in the backyard, Rocks could be up for any adventure as long as he's with his beloved family.   This charming pooch is not just looking for a home; he's looking for a forever family who will cherish him and shower him with the love and care he deserves. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Rocks? He's currently wagging his tail in anticipation, waiting for his perfect match to come along.     What My Foster Says About Me:   Stay tuned!   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
