Meet Tiny: Not at the shelter
When his senior owner moved to an apartment for easier management of his life needs, Tiny and his “brother” Little Bit tried to go with him but the landlord said no pets were permitted. Their dad was heartbroken, and felt that rehoming through the shelter was his only option. The boys were well-loved and are beautifully housetrained, and are adapting well for two seniors whose lives have been turned around. They are enjoying their quiet foster home, and will visit a vet soon. Here is what we know about Tiny, gleaned from his person and our observations: He is fifteen years old, neutered, outgoing, and adventurous. He enjoys attention of any kind, and does not mind being picked up or held. He really enjoys going outside, so maybe a fenced area would be lovely for him! He is not an actual blood brother to Little Bit, but they do like each other. They are not bonded, and in fact, due to their competitiveness with one another to get attention, we feel they would be happiest if they could be adopted to individual families. As far as we know, the boys were not exposed to young children, but in the brief time they were at the animal shelter, they seemed comfortable with other dogs. Tiny walks well on a leash. He is quite comfortable sleeping on a soft cushion next to his human’s bed. His diet is gradually transitioning to more suitable food than what he has eaten most of his life, so he can feel even better. We do see some cloudiness in his eyes, and plan a thorough bet exam soon.We already love both Tiny and his friend! Adoption Process
Begin with an application to adopt. Other pets in household must be spay/neutered, current with rabies vaccines, dogs need to be current with HW testing and heartguard. Fees range between $75 and $300. We follow up on spays/neuters for pets under six months, and the fees include spay/neuter. Contract requires it. Adults are adopted out already spayed/neutered. Pets must be returned to FOAC if adoption ends.
