HSWC is a 501c3 organization that holds a contract with Warren County to provide animal sheltering services. We are an open admission shelter and do not turn animals away due to medical or behavioral needs. We work diligently to save the lives of all the adoptable animals in our care. We also work with the community to help increase pet retention. We are a drop off location for transport to the local spay/neuter clinic.

Meet Robin

This little beauty is Robin and she is around 1-3 years old and will melt your heart with her baby blues. She came to us as a stray and was never reclaimed. Robin is apprehensive of new people and environments at first and may take a little extra time to open up. She is most comfortable when she is outside exploring and away from the loudness of the shelter. An active and patient family that can provide plenty of mental stimulation and exercise that she needs will be best. Due to her breed Robin will require regular grooming and this should be considered before bringing her into your home. We are unsure of her with cats, and are working on testing her with dogs. We will require a dog test with any current pups in the home to see how everyone gets along. Once she gets comfortable she loves to engage with people and loves her toys! Robin is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting? Adoption Process
Interested adopters must fill out an adoption application. We verify that current pets are UTD on Rabies vaccinations and spayed or neutered. If the applicants rent we verify with the landlord that they are approved to adopt a pet. Adopters must fill out an adoption contract and sterilization agreement if the pet is not already altered. Pets that are not altered can only be adopted out to residents of Warren County or a surrounding jurisdiction. The adoption fee for cats is $15 and the fee for dogs is $30. The adoption fee does not include the cost of spay or neuter. If the animal is not altered adopters are required to have the pet altered within 30 days of adoption or by the time it reaches 6 months old.
