Meet Dillon I am currently fostering two year old Dillon. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have met. He has spent most of his time relaxing and decompressing. He enjoys long walks - if he sees a squirrel he will want to chase it, because of this we believe he would do best with larger dogs/animals. He is able to jump pretty high, we think he would do best in a home with a 6ft fence or need to be monitored when outside. He is treat motivated and very intelligent, making him an excellent candidate for further training. Car rides make Dillon a bit nervous, securing him is helpful and having a backseat friend. He may benefit from having something yummy to chew on as a distraction during trips. Dillon has been diagnosed with a condition called endocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). This diagnosis is lifelong but MANAGEABLE. He requires a low fiber diet, a daily probiotic and enzymes on his food at each feeding - the total cost of meds is approximately $63/month. Note on how I do this - 1 tbsp of Enzymes are placed on his food with warm water and left to sit for at least 20 mins. I currently mix everything in a mixing bowl and place his food in a slow feeder. From my short term researching this topic I have found many resources and groups with knowledge on this diagnosis. This is one resource I have found that is helpful - https://epi4dogs.com/ There is also a great Facebook group. Dillon is searching for a fun loving best friend/family to share his life with!
