Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

TWIN NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Twin      Best Guess for Breed:    Lab and Terrier mix      Best Guess for Age:    2 years as of April 2024   SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   30 lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven’t seen Twin with cats or kids, but he can be tested!   Currently Living at:    South Carolina shelter - Needs a foster or adopter to make it to the DC area   Special adoption considerations: Twin is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky!  They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months.   Twin is Looking For:     Meet Twin, the adorable 2-year-old bundle of love eagerly awaiting his forever home! Weighing in at a compact 30 pounds, this charming black and white lab/terrier mix has a heart as big as his wagging tail. Twin is the perfect blend of playful energy and cuddly affection, making him an ideal companion for both outdoor adventures and cozy nights in. With his soulful eyes and gentle disposition, Twin has already captured the hearts of everyone he meets.   Despite his small stature, Twin has a boundless enthusiasm for life and is always up for a game of fetch or a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. He adores belly rubs and ear scratches, and his loyal nature makes him a steadfast friend to both humans and furry companions alike. Whether you're seeking a hiking buddy, a loyal confidant, or simply a furry best friend to share your days with, Twin is ready to bring endless joy and unconditional love into your life.     What My Foster Says About Me:    Coming Soon!   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
