Mutt Love Rescue

We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.We work with local and rural shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.

Meet Summer *Adopt or Foster*

If Summer could tell us her story, I'm sure we would be in tears. She was found tied by a short leash, to a chicken coop which had one lone rooster inside with no hens in sight. Doesn't take much to imagine what was likely going on there. She was clearly not cared for, her fur in horrible mats, and her food bowl was full of chicken feed. Our rescue angels in NC saved her and immediately had her groomed. She has the cutest freckles! Unfortunately, to no one's surprise, she tested positive for heartworms. She is due to finish her treatment at the end of May and we would love to find her a loving foster or forever home to help her heal, inside and out. We believe Summer is 2-ish yrs old and weighs 20 lbs. 

Adoption Process
Potential adopters complete an application, are interviewed, vet references are checked, home visit, adoption contract. Adoption fee is $285 for a spayed/neutered, fully vetted and microchipped dog.
