Meet Samuel aka Sammie aka Finnie
2-year-old Samuel (AKA Finnie) was adopted out but the fit wasn't quite right. Diagnosed with separation anxiety and dog aggression Finnie was put on medications by his veterinarian. Finnie came back to the shelter and immediately went into foster care at Camp Merricks. While at Camp Finnie has been weaned off of all medications and the dog underneath is shining through. With appropriate introductions we have found that Finnie actually LOVES other dogs and is good with all sizes and types of dogs. He is smart, friendly, and loves to play. His behavior previously resulted from a lack of appropriate exercise, structure, and mental stimulation. Finnie is highly trainable, walks well on a leash and is clean in his crate. His former owner said he was good in the house as well. Finnie still gets very excited when he sees things that are new to him or interesting but he is learning to control his excitement when he sees other dogs and people. Finnie's new home needs to have a fenced back yard and a friend for Finnie to play with. Camp Merricks will assist with transition issues so Finnie's old habits don't arise once more. Finnie is not at the shelter. To schedule a meet and greet with him email [email protected].
