Meet Saint: At shelter

Two year old brothers Saint and Bane loved playtime together on Thursday! these boys have very different personalities. Saint, wearing the wide red collar is more outgoing and confident than his brother. And we noted that he wants ALL the attention when humans are around, and tried to run interference between his brother and the humans. It’s behavior often seen in dogs that are siblings. And it’s one reason we don’t encourage people to keep siblings together. We love seeing each dog blossom and not feel inhibited by a sibling. The positive here is that we’re not seeing any kind of corrections to one another, as the boys are still young enough to be amiable, and easy to handle. But it will be important for them to be neutered quickly, and we would love to see them adopted into separate homes.   They are two years old, intact, and are a challenging mix of breeds: chow/husky/German Shepherd. (All three of these breeds go downhill quickly in the shelter setting.) We understand they lived with one other dog, and were indoor pets. So far they appear to be social enough with new volunteers. If you are looking for a beautiful dog, and love any of these breeds, perhaps one of them would be the one for you.   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at [email protected]. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.

Adoption Process
Begin with an application to adopt. Other pets in household must be spay/neutered, current with rabies vaccines, dogs need to be current with HW testing and heartguard. Fees range between $75 and $300. We follow up on spays/neuters for pets under six months, and the fees include spay/neuter. Contract requires it. Adults are adopted out already spayed/neutered. Pets must be returned to FOAC if adoption ends.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
