Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

MADDIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Maddie     Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix  Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of May 2025         SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 23 lbs as of 5/19/25 - she is still growing!   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Maddie is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweetie is at the upper end of puppyhood and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. She's looking forward to having her own humans to show her all of the exciting things life has to offer. Trips to parks, playdates with friends, and new adventures are on her to-do list! Oh, and LOTS of cuddles! Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved. In exchange, she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she's storing up, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Are you ready for all those adventures with Maddie?  What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once this pup has spent some time in foster care! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
