New Rattitude, Inc.

New Rattitude is a national, all-volunteer non-profit rescue/adoption agency whose mission is to rescue Rat Terriers (and mixes that are predominantly Rat Terrier) from imminent death at animal shelters, the streets, abusive/neglectful homes, or from owners who can no longer keep a dog, and to rehome the dogs into new and permanent, screened and approved adoptive homes. Each dog rescued is cared for in a safe and nurturing foster care environment where he or she receives appropriate medical care, a high quality diet, training and socialization. To achieve these ends, the organization is involved with transportation, volunteer recruiting and training, mentoring, fund-raising, and establishing and maintaining other programs deemed helpful to achieving the mission of rescuing and re-homing Rat Terriers.

Meet Bodie (VA)

I'm Bodie, a lively 4-year-old boy with lots of personality packed into my 12-lb. frame. People say I might be a rat terrier/Chihuahua mix. I say I'm just cute! I like playing with squeaky toys, chasing my fur foster brothers, burrowing under the covers for naps and at night, and taking walks! As soon as I get home, I want to go back out. I am doing very well on a leash, although I can be barky when other dogs walk past. I'm working on this with my foster family. I'm also a good car rider using a harness and tether or a car crate.   Foster Mom says I'm "energetic." I say please have another playful dog and a fenced yard where we can romp and play. Foster Mom says I am house-trained. I say, yes, I AM house-trained! Foster Mom says I'm "vocal." I say I'm just alerting her to anything outside or along the fence line.   My foster parents say I bonded quickly with them. I say I love my humans, and it's upsetting if they leave for a long time without bringing me along. We're practicing something called crate training, but I would rather that you be home with me. Foster Mom says I need time to "warm up" to visitors. I say people shouldn't enter a dog's home and try to be best friends. However, if they just leave me alone and let copious yummy treats fall from their bodies, I will be best best friends with them after a few minutes.   My foster parents say I bring them joy. I say making them laugh every day brings ME joy. I'm ready to make it my full-time job in my forever home. I say check out my photos at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/bodie and you'll want me! What do you say?
