Meet Minerva in Gloucester VA

Yoooo Hoooo.....it's me, Missy Minerva. I am the sweetest, cutest, most loving little love bug. Yes, I am bragging, but my wonderful foster mom tells me that every day, and she says she wouldn't lie. I share my foster home with several dogs, cats, kids and am doing very well. I sleep in my crate all night long. A girl needs her beauty sleep, and it seems to be working. I am told I am prettier every day. Why just this morning, I got a nice bath. I loved it as I am a bit of a girly girl. hee hee Come visit me! And this from the volunteers who care for Minerva....this sweet girl hasn't always had the best life, tho we don't know a lot about her past. She has successfully been treated for heart worms and came through like a champ! We think she has some sight issues and takes eye drops daily for dry eyes. She doesn't mind at all. The only time you notice that she may have some diminished sight is when she refuses to go down the steps by herself. She appears to be afraid of falling as she doesn't mind coming up stairs by herself. . We are currently training her to a ramp and she seems to be willing. She is also working hard on her housetraining skills, which we think might have to do with her concerns about the stairs. She would do well in a more calm or quiet home, especially if there is someone home a good deal of the time. She would also benefit from a calm and patient companion dog. She is happiest when she is near you or her dog friend, but will quietly lie down with a chew bone and entertain herself. She has made amazing improvements since being in foster, so we have high hopes for her. We picture her in a home with a retired person or couple, or someone who works from home. She would happily go for walks with you and is always ready for some cuddles. She loves the children and runs on those short little legs to greet them. With very few accommodations, she will be your perfect companion. She is a gem!!!
