Meet Sourdough — a sweet, 2-year-old, 23 lb. terrier mix with a heart full of love and a story that might just break yours.Sourdough was found as a stray, alone and scared. When the shelter contacted his former people to reclaim him, they refused—saying he had “too much energy” and they didn’t want him back. Terrified at the shelter, he struggled with the constant noise, unfamiliar faces, and overwhelming chaos. What he needed was a quiet space to feel safe, to decompress, and to simply breathe. But no one came.That’s when we stepped in. AHOTO pulled Sourdough from the shelter and gave him the chance he deserved. Now he’s safe—but what he really needs is a forever home.Despite everything he’s been through, Sourdough has blossomed into a happy, high-energy pup with a playful spirit and so much love to give. He’s smart, resilient, and full of potential—just waiting for someone to believe in him. Sourdough is a ball of energy and would really thrive with people that can take him on long walks, hikes, to doggy daycare and on puppy playdates, and tons of mental stimulation like snuffle mats and puzzle toys!He doesn’t need perfection—just someone with patience, a ton of energy, and a heart big enough to finally give him the life he’s never had.Please consider adopting Sourdough and give him the second chance he deserves.  Adoption applications are open now—don’t wait.
