Meet Princess

Princess is a 1.5 yr old, 14lb Shih Tzu.  This little girl is active and athletic. She loves doing zoomies and taking her daily brisk walk. Her record is 5 miles with her foster mom. She is quick and will dart for an open door, so her adoptive home needs to be prepared to manage a young dog around entryways. She is a sweet girl who craves direction and is very smart. Princess could be an only dog and can entertain herself with plush toys in her crate or also enjoy a playmate around her size (14 lbs).  As a puppy, she was taught to play bite for fun, so her foster family is teaching her better ways for an adult dog to play. Princess happily sits next to you, enjoys being petted, and is a great companion. Her new family will need to help her calm down if she starts getting overstimulated playing or being petted so she doesn’t default to play biting. The ideal home would be with someone experienced in dealing with a dog who still has puppy tendencies and needs training to continue.  Princess will be a wonderful companion for the family who is willing to invest some time, energy and love. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC and VA. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. We require an all-adult home (no children/grandchildren under 16yrs) with a securely fenced yard attached to the house with NO gaps larger than 3 inches.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace, temporary fencing or community shared fencing are NOT considered secure fencing. No exceptions. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dogs after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption fee is $500.
